
Context
The client is an important link in the financial world. The client provides international support to a number of businesses with its services for managing their portfolios. To be able to realize this, an extensive supporting software system is kept operational.
Approach
The client's processes are housed in an extensive software system. This system mainly consists of custom software and runs on several platforms. The system is continuously subject to change. New components are added via six releases per year. From this perspective, the client was looking for the correct information (size, quality, consistence, etc.) in order to be able to compare and steer the differences in the releases.
Result
With a CARE implementation of Omnext SaaS, Omnext provided the client with the correct information from the correct environment. This means that the client can now gain insight into the complexity of the different components that have been modified and that undesirable code is reduced (such as global variables and deep nesting).
Insight was also provided into the maintainability, double-programmed code, conformity with standards and guidelines, and changes in the environment (in maintenance function points) of the client's own software system.
