Insight into an application portfolio!

Context
As part of the consolidation of its application portfolio, a Dutch bank required insight into the size and complexity of a number of large client-server applications.
This insight would help determine a strategy to replace these client-server systems.

Approach
With Source2VALUE, insight was gained into the applications that need consolidating. Then, using the Use Case Editor (UCE), the design of the applications was reconstructed. This model was cleaned up further for redundancy and functionality that was no longer used.

Result
The result was insight into the size and complexity of the applications in question, based on which a solid strategy for replacing the different necessary functionalities was determined.
